This Friday, February 26th Amanda will be racing in The Florida 500, riding nonstop from Jacksonville, Florida to Key West, Florida. She will be competing in the 533-mile non-drafting, solo, crew supported race. She will use the event to prepare for the multitude of world records attempts that she has planned for this year. Venturing back into ultra-cycling, while the road racing schedule is on pause, Amanda has her sights set on ultra-distance world records. To prepare for these upcoming record attempts, Amanda has been utilizing Zwift as her primary training platform. Being able to ride with consistent data, an array of elevation, difficulty levels of workouts, and events, is crucial when preparing for such massive feats. Zwift has substantially improved Amanda's overall fitness since she began training with it. This previous weekend, Amanda participated in the Zwift Insider Uber Pretzel, utilizing the event as her final pre-race, long ride to test nutrition, position, and gear. Amanda’s Zwift set up includes; the Wahoo Kickr trainer, Wahoo Kickr Climb, Headwind, and Element Roam, creating the ultimate cycling simulation.
For this weekend's race, Amanda will be riding her Felt DA with Zipp Speed Weaponry wheels, SRAM groupset, Kenda Tires, Arundel Cages, and a Velo Saddle. She will be wearing Le Col clothing and a Limar Air Speed helmet. The Florida 500 is Amanda’s first of many record attempts that she has planned for this season. Already the owner of multiple Guinness World Records, Amanda is excited and determined to add many more incredible accomplishments to her impressive resume.
